Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc. supported IDOT District One under PTB 151, Item 7 by providing Phase II engineering services for traffic signal projects across multiple routes and counties within the region. The work focused on developing contract-ready plans, special provisions, and quantity estimates for both new traffic signal installations and modifications to existing systems.

The project included site inspections and field measurements to support design development, along with preparation of detailed traffic signal plans and associated documentation. Designs addressed permanent signal installations as well as temporary traffic signal configurations and system interconnects, as required by individual project conditions. The project included traffic signal modernization and modifications at 62 intersections, LED traffic signal head replacements at over 350 signalized intersections, battery backup installations and ADA improvements.

All traffic signal plans were prepared in accordance with current State Standard Specifications, MUTCD requirements, and District One standards and guidelines. Coordination with District staff supported consistent review, approval, and integration with ongoing roadway projects.
