The Glenview Park District wanted to expand their existing Community Ice Center current 1 ½ sheets of ice to include two full sheets of ice and one-half sheet of ice for studio use. After conducting a master site review considering full replacement of the existing facility, the Park District elected to maintain and remodel the existing one full sheet of ice in an accelerated phase in order to have the one sheet of ice operational, while the remaining building was demolished and constructed with new 1½ sheets of ice.

Site improvements consist of providing a new Landwehr Road entrance and a new entrance from the Glenbrook Hospital drive which gains access to the traffic signal on Landwehr Road as well as new parking, circulation, and underground vault storage. An Intergovernmental Agreement between the Glenview Park District and the Village of Glenview was created to document a property swap. This maximized the parking for the Community Ice Center while also providing detention for the future Fire Station improvements.
