Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc. (GHA) provided civil engineering and site development services for Phase I of the Buffalo Grove High School Campus Athletic Improvements. This phase, which redeveloped the northern portion of the campus, included a new varsity softball field with enclosed dugouts, a multi-sport synthetic turf field with lighting, a batting cage, and 12 new tennis courts.

Site enhancements also included a new storage building, landscape planting areas, and utility improvements. The initial phase utilizes a reconfigured existing detention basin; however, the improvements are designed to connect to a future underground stormwater storage basin to be constructed in the subsequent phase. Watermain and sanitary service extensions were similarly designed to accommodate future building additions as outlined in the district’s broader master plan.

GHA led civil engineering efforts from design through construction, including the entitlement process, construction document preparation, permitting, and on-site construction observation with NPDES compliance monitoring.
