GHA performed over 130 locations comprising of 48-hour FHWA class/volume counts and 24-hour turning movement counts in Bismarck and Mandan, North Dakota. With the high rise of energy development in western North Dakota, Bismarck-Mandan MPO needed data collection in 2018 to help determine the development and prioritization of upcoming projects.
Data will be used for road-funding decisions in the future, it was imperative that data have high accuracy from an experienced, trustworthy firm, thus GHA was awarded the 2018 contract. GHA has completed all volume/class data using Diamond Road Runner 3 tube counters and most of the TMC’s using Miovision Scout cameras within a week’s time.
The Client requested a 2-week delay for 11 of the turning movement counts due to construction in the area. GHA also assisted in creating GIS shapefiles and GPS coordinates for the MPO.
