Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc. (GHA) provided Barrington Community Unit School District #220 civil engineering services to support the Barrington High School Stadium Improvements. This included surveying, preliminary, and final engineering, stormwater design, permitting, and construction observation.
The stadium improvements included 4,000 new seats, the removal of the 6-lane track, and replacement with an 8 lane International Style that allowed for a 225’-wide regulation size lighted synthetic turf soccer/football field. Also included were a new video scoreboard, restrooms, concession, and storage buildings.
GHA’s innovative stormwater design and coordination with FEMA removed a portion of the site from the floodway, with detention provided under the field as approved by the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission.
