Gewalt Hamilton served as a sub-consultant for Phase I of the proposed elimination of the at-grade crossing of US Rte. 14 and the Canadian National Railway. Gewalt Hamilton provided right-of-way and topographic surveying on a combined total of 7,000 linear feet along U.S. Rte. 14 and IL Rte.59, as well as 3,000 linear feet of the CN Railway line. Plats of highways were prepared to facilitate the acquisition of 39 parcels to make way for proposed roadway improvements. Gewalt Hamilton reviewed title commitments and legal descriptions for the proposed easements, and wrote takings for submittal to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
