The successful candidate will have the opportunity to experience a broad range of multi-disciplinary projects in the public and private sector under the supervision of a project manager. This position works with a variety of clients and requires travel in Lake and surrounding Counties in Illinois. Duties include preparing Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans, IEPA permit application forms, conducting soil erosion and sediment control inspections and reports, storm sewer outfall inventories and pond/retention/detention basin inspections.
Qualifications: A minimum 1 year experience in a related field is preferred. Familiarity with construction plans, methods and maintenance of erosion and sediment control structures is a plus.
Responsibilities include wetland delineations and permitting, soil erosion and sediment control inspections and reports, outfall and detention basin inspections and NPDES compliance monitoring and reporting. Qualifications include a Bachelor degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Botany, Resource Management or other related field and/or experience in wetland consulting, landscaping, site work or construction inspection.
Responsibilities include: managing survey projects, supervising technical staff, boundary and A.L.T.A. surveys, subdivision plats, building and construction layout, and preparing new job proposals. Qualifications include 5+ years related experience; knowledge of AutoCAD; field procedures. Illinois Professional Land Surveyor license preferred; licensure through reciprocity will be considered.
Responsibilities include: directing survey crews, construction layout, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and A.L.T.A. surveys. Qualifications include 3+ years related experience with knowledge of total stations required. Robotic total stations and GPS experience a plus.
Responsibilities include drafting civil engineering plans, topographical, boundary and A.L.T.A. surveys; and subdivision plats. Qualifications include 1+ years related experience and knowledge of AutoCAD 2000 or 2002 and Land Development software.
Responsibilities include construction observation, record keeping, and assisting with interpretation of civil engineering plans, specifications, and construction directives. Qualifications include 2+ years related civil engineering experience and knowledge of Illinois Department of Transportation record keeping procedures. Associates degree in Construction Engineering a plus.
GHA welcomes students interested in pursuing careers in Civil Engineering and Surveying to gain experience by joining our staff through paid internships and co-op programs. Qualifications include current study of civil engineering at an accredited Engineering College or University.
