Rosemary Terrace Infrastructure Improvements
Village of Deerfield, Illinois

The Village of Deerfield had awarded a $2,754,000 construction project to reconstruct Rosemary Terrace, Orchard Street and Todd Court including the replacement of the existing sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water main and requested the services of an experienced engineering firm to serve as Resident Engineer and Inspector for the construction phase of the project.

GHA was awarded the contract to represent the Village of Deerfield and serve as Resident Engineer and Engineering Inspector on the project.

GHA's scope of services consisted of the following:  Full time construction observation, review and verification of the accuracy of Contractor staking, attendance at weekly meetings with the Contractor and Village Staff, preparation of weekly report,s and review of monthly pay requests submitted by the Contractor.

The sensitive nature and high profile of this project with it being one of the larger reconstruction projects within the Village and the concern for impacts to the existing parkway trees by the homeowners along Rosemary Terrace and Orchard Street posed some challenges.  GHA provided daily communications with the local residents, which played a major role in settling their emotions.

The improvements were a big success and the contactor completed all work ahead of schedule and under budget.
